Jeannette McGee has painted for twenty years in oil and pastel. She specializes in Portraits, Landscape and Still Life in an early impressionistic style developed from the Barbizon School in France and continued in the United States through the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey. She has been working at the studio of Cynthia Harris-Pagano in her North Light Atelier.
I enjoy working from life when painting a portrait. I prefer painting en plein air when painting a landscape. This direct style of painting contributes to the spontaneity and freshness of a landscape. The artist is able to capture light on objects through observation skills as well as painting skills.
